“Making Side-by-Side Images of Newspaper Articles”

Don Snow
8/11/18

Categories: S, O

Talk Abstract:
Frequently, the electronic versions of newspaper articles are long and too tall to fit on a computer screen. This presentation will show ways to separate these into pieces which can be placed side-by-side so they are easier work with and read. This can be done with the scans of hard copy articles or with screenshots of online articles. We will discuss programs and ways to find and work with these. The notes for this presentation are on Don’s website https://uvtagg.org/classes/dons/dons-classes.html , including several Freeware Corner articles.

Speaker Bio:
Donald R. Snow is a retired Professor of Mathematics from BYU and has been involved with the UVTAGG (formerly the UVPAFUG) for more than 25 years. He is a snowbird between Provo and St. George and is a speaker at many family history venues. He and his wife, Diane, now deceased, filled four family history missions for the LDS Church. Don also plays the accordion for Big Band/Swing Era concerts at Senior Citizens locations in Utah County and in St. George. His class notes and articles, and even his accordion concert schedule, are all on his website.
