This presentation covers searching historical record collections. Whether you are a new searcher or an accomplished researcher, this presentation has something for you. Learn foundational tips and power-user features. When you understand what is happening under the covers, you are in a better position to guide the search engine. If search results have ever left you scratching your head, this presentation will move you ahead, increasing your ability to find the most elusive records.

Speaker Bio:
Robert Raymond is a Deputy to FamilySearch Chief Genealogical Officer, David Rencher. He is a frequent presenter at national, regional, and local conferences. He was a director of the National Genealogical Society from 2012 to 2018. Robert is a genealogist and technologist with over 40 years of experience in technology and genealogy. He holds over a dozen patents (inventions, not land 😉 ) and earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Brigham Young University where he was honored as a Kimball Scholar. He was a member of the Eta Kappa Nu Electrical Engineering Honor Society, and the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society.
