Talk Abstract:
Struggling to get your teenager interested in family history? This presentation explores interactive tech tools, creative projects, and collaborative strategies to turn genealogy research into a rewarding family adventure. Learn how parents and teens can work together to build a family tree, unearth hidden stories, and connect with their ancestors – all while strengthening family bonds in the process.

Speaker Bio:
Dawn Retta Brimhall received a BA in History Teaching from Brigham Young University (2011) and a Masters in Education from the University of St. Thomas (2018). In 2020, she was named the Aldine Independent School District (ISD) Secondary Teacher of the Year in Houston, Texas. She currently serves as the Social Studies Instructional Specialist at Davis High School in Aldine ISD. She enjoys travel, photography, music, and family history.
